Ironport Symbol Catalog

This catalog covers every symbol used across the Ironport project: map symbols, landmark glyphs, faction and guild sigils, noble house seals, and holy symbols. Each entry has a stable ID so samples can be requested and revised by number (for example, "generate M-01 through M-08").

Canon descriptions from the source documents are reproduced as written. Where the documents leave a symbol undefined, the entry is marked Undefined and needs a decision before generation.

Rule for guilds: A guild without its own canon symbol inherits a variant of its parent body's sigil, or of a mark from the district it operates in, or takes a closely related device.

Derived entries (no canon symbol; each takes a variant of a parent sigil or district mark):

Part 4: Noble house seals (H)

Canon from the Ironport documents (Ironport(2) supersedes the original), grouped by the heir each house backs.

Every house is rendered as a family seal. The house device sits in a round field, and a ring around it carries the house name. Each seal has two forms: a heraldic version in the house tinctures, and a single-color wax impression.

Suggested generation order

  1. Style anchors: M-02, M-07, M-23, S-06, and H-05. This is one of each kind, used to lock line weight and rendering before generating the rest.
  2. The rest of the map symbols (M): These are needed first for the city plan.
  3. Sigils (S) and house seals (H): These are most visible to players.
  4. Holy symbols (G) and landmark glyphs (L).
  5. Undefined entries, once they have descriptions.
